If we pay attention, we can clearly distinguish a desert. Deserts are known for their dry sand, where vegetation is sparse and where survival is hard and exhausting. Again, if we pay attention we can see several people walking, some in one direction and others in a different direction. How many times have we been disoriented like those people who are in this piece of art, without any sense of direction? How many times have thought that your life is a total desert?
God comforts God’s people in the most unexpected and unimaginable ways. We should take a moment and reflect on a time when we saw the hands of God, when we have been faint, and could only say “we need God’s presence now” and that phrase filled us with strength and a desire to move forward.
God calls us to come out into the light, and the prophet Isaiah reminds us of this in chapter 49 verses 8-16. When we follow the Sun’s direction, we manifest what it means to keep fighting to change what is not convenient; to change what does not help us and what prevents us from to continuing to grow as a family of Christ.
Si prestamos atención, podemos distinguir claramente un desierto. Los desiertos son conocidos por su arena seca, donde la vegetación es escasa y donde la supervivencia es dura y agotadora. Si prestamos atención nuevamente podemos ver a varias personas caminando, unos en una dirección, otros no siguen la misma dirección de los demás. ¿Cuántas veces hemos estado desorientados como aquellas personas que se encuentran en la obra de arte sin ninguna dirección o sentido? ¿Cuántas veces has pensado que tu vida es un desierto total?
Dios consuela a su pueblo de las maneras más inesperadas e inimaginables. Debemos tomar un tiempo y reflexionar sobre un momento en el que hemos visto las manos de Dios, cuando hemos estado débiles, y sólo decir “Necesitamos la presencia de Dios ahora” y esa frase nos ha llenado de fuerza y el deseo de seguir adelante.
Dios nos llama a salir a la luz, y el profeta Isaías nos recuerda esto en el capítulo 49 versículos 8-16. Cuando seguimos la dirección del Sol, manifestamos lo que significa seguir luchando para cambiar lo que no es conveniente, cambiar lo que no nos ayuda y lo que nos impide seguir creciendo como familia en Cristo.
