Together We Stand

The First Presbyterian Church of Ossining is proud of the outreach we do to our greater community, as well as the “inreach” we do to ensure our church is vibrant and energetic. Here is a selection of programs we offer:

Worship and Fellowship

Come worship with us every Sunday at 11am in our beautiful sanctuary, as well as special services for Christmas and Easter. If you are musically inclined, choir practice begins at 9:30am on Sunday. After worship, join us for fellowship and refreshment at our coffee hour and monthly potluck lunches.

Bible Study and Prayer Groups

Bible study is offered Thursday mornings at 11am, and a Bible study and prayer group is held on Thursday evenings [in our parlor].

Ossining Food Pantry

Our church contributes to the Ossining Food Pantry. Non-perishable food contributions may be left in the narthex of the church during worship, or in the church office at other times.

Ossining Prison Ministry

Our church has a strong tradition of volunteering to support the prison ministry through Bible study and supporting families visiting their incarcerated family members.

Community Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners

For more than thirty years, our congregation has held a community Thanksgiving dinner that welcomes everyone, in particular those who do not have a Thanksgiving dinner to attend. The [temple to be named] traditionally holds a community Christmas dinner in our fellowship hall that also welcomes community members. In addition, our congregation supports the Ossining Children’s Center Thanksgiving dinner for children and families.

Monthly Lunches

Our “Wanderers” group meets monthly in local restaurants, typically the third Thursday of the month. This is an opportunity for fellowship in a social setting with good food.

After-School Program

We are in the process of developing an after-school program once per week for children ages 6-12 that provides homework help and Christian education. We expect to roll out this program in mid-2016.
