Summer Movies

August 16, 2018 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Starting August 9 through the end of the month:

Every Thursday we will be watching movies that connect with the following Sunday’s sermon.  We will start the movie at 11:00 am in the fellowship hall and then we will have conversations after the movie.  Popcorn will be provided.

August 9:

All Saints
When a group of Burmese refugees join the congregation, the pastor of a failing Anglican church attempts to aid them by planting crops and enlisting the help of the community.

August 16:

The Namesake
American-born Gogol, the son of Indian immigrants, wants to fit in among his fellow New Yorkers, despite his family’s unwillingness to let go of their traditional ways.

August 23:

The Great Debaters
A drama based on the true story of Melvin B. Tolson, a professor at Wiley College Texas. In 1935, he inspired students to form the school’s first debate team, which went on to challenge Harvard in the national championship.
